Ocala, Florida (June 15, 2007)—Reviews are always interesting and at times enlightening. Many people in fact make it a habit to check out the latest Consumer Reports before investing hundreds or even thousands of hard earned dollars on the latest High Definition TV's, GPS systems, Riding Mowers as well as many other consumer products. This includes home improvement purchases.

FloorBiz has always made it a practice whenever possible to do business with large, national companies which impact our flooring industry. Since I had a need to remodel 2 bathrooms, I decided to use Bath Fitter. My experience from the initial sale to job completion is what follows.

The desire of both me and my wife was to end up with a maintenance-free, beautifully updated bath which would endure years of use from our family of four. We received a merchant guide in our mailbox one day and decided to check out the various offers. We came across a Bath Fitters advertisement and were immediately drawn to the elegant seamless acrylic walls, tubs and shower pans they offered. Another attractive feature was the claim of one-day installations for each bath which meant our remodel project wouldn't be a drawn out one.

We decided to call and make an appointment for a free no-obligation estimate. Within a few days our salesman arrived on time and with a very pleasant and disarming disposition. He immediately inquired what our desire was and actually listened to what we had to say. There was not an ounce of pressure to his method of selling, which put both me and my wife at ease. He went into each bath and took careful measurements after which he calculated the costs and provided us with a complete estimate for everything we requested.

I must be honest and admit we weren't quite prepared for the amount Bath Fitters was asking. The salesman noticed our hesitation and politely told us we could think it over and get back to him in a few days. After getting past the initial sticker-shock, we decided right then to let them do the work and after paying a small deposit, our materials were ordered.

In less than two weeks our installer was at our door on time at 8:00 AM. We were impressed by his earnest desire to meet our expectations and he assured us both that he'd do whatever would be necessary to provide us the best possible job. His attention to detail was what most impressed me as he went about prepping our guest bath. After he removed our old tub, he began reinforcing the walls where needed with 2 by 4 lumber, replaced our old water valve with a top-of-the-line Moen valve which meant some plumbing work needed to be done. I have to admit, he was one of the most competent and skilled remodelers I have ever come across and handled even the toughest tasks with reassuring ease.

When installing the new acrylic tub, he encountered a small problem with the old vent pipe and drain configuration. After some deliberation, he called his supervisor who within 30 minutes was there to troubleshoot the problem as a team and within another 45 minutes had the issue resolved. The installer informed us that it was going to take more than a day to complete the guest bath and arranged to come back the next morning at 7:30 AM. By 3:00 PM the first bath was complete with beautiful new solid (6 inch tile patterned) white acrylic walls, (Empress Soaker) tub, new Moen fixtures, large corner shelf, soap dish and towel bar. We were extremely pleased with the finished product and looked forward to our master bath remodel.

At 8:00 AM the next morning the work began on our master shower. This time, along with reinforcing the walls with 2 by 4 lumber, he also had to install some new drywall. I should mention that these extra tasks were done at no additional charge per the contract. Whatever was needed, this highly skilled installer was up to the task and never wavered in attitude or countenance and by 5:00 PM our entire project was complete.

Final Observation

This was a project that when all was said and done, cost well over $6,000.00. We couldn't be more pleased to have contracted the work with Bath Fitter. They exceeded our expectations from the initial sale to job completion. Every person we encountered from the salesman to the woman who runs the showroom, the main supervisor and our installer were very pleasant and professional.
