Capel Rugs has launched a new air freight program for rugs imported from India that will deliver custom orders to retailers' doors or consumers' homes in as quickly as 2.5 months.

The program starts immediately and includes a wide variety of popular hand knotted, hand tufted, hand loomed and flat woven designs from the Capel line. Custom orders of India-made products now will be fulfilled in 2.5 to 6 months with the new air freight program, versus the 3.5 to 12 month lead times for orders shipped by ocean vessels.

The new program will cover several new rug designs introduced by Capel Rugs at the summer markets in Atlanta and Las Vegas, including:

Burke
A new contemporary collection made from 100% PET yarns recycled from plastic bottles. The collection is hand loomed with double-back quality in India to deliver an easy-care, high-performance rug with a thick, lush pile. The collection comes in three colorways -- aegean, charcoal and stone -- and four sizes. A 5' x 8' rug may retail for $649. Standard sizes of Burke will be available in domestic stock for immediate delivery starting Oct. 19. Air freight custom orders will be delivered in 3 months versus 5 months for ocean shipments.

Charise
A well-priced, upscale, hand knotted traditional collection from India featuring classic motifs updated for today’s lifestyles. The 100% wool rugs are available in eight patterns and colorways: Isfahan in sand, Kazak in blue multi, Keshan in champagne, Mahal in dark chocolate, Peshawar in slate ruby, Tabriz in fog blue, Ushak in scarlet and Ziegler in terra cotta. A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for $1,149. Standard sizes of Charise will be available in domestic stock for immediate delivery starting Nov. 19. Air freight custom orders will be delivered in 3.5 months versus 5.5 months for ocean shipments.

Nomad
A new collection of hand knotted transitional designs with an abstract pattern made in India of 100% New Zealand wool. The semi-worsted collection features an open knot construction with a plush high/low pile. Three colorways are available – ivory/grey, ivory/navy and ivory/chestnut. Standard sizes of Nomad will be available in domestic stock for immediate delivery starting Oct. 19. Air freight custom orders will be delivered in 3.5 months versus 5.5 months for ocean shipments.
