Lauzon Debuts Widest Plank Ever - Launches New Commercial Finish
Papineauville, Quebec, Canada—In response to the growing number of homeowners who are asking for wider planks, Lauzon is introducing 5-3/16-in. NextStep flooring. Building on the manufacturer’s engineered product NextStep, the company’s wide planks offer the look of a solid sawn hardwood surface, combined with the precision of exclusive milling technology.

“What sets NextStep wide plank apart from others is the possibility of combining 3-1/4-in. and 5-3/16-in. planks in the same floor to create stunning results,” said David Lauzon, president of Lauzon Distinctive Hardwood Flooring. “Only Lauzon offers this option.”

The new NextStep wide plank is micro-beveled (micro-V) with regular gloss, while 30% gloss level is available as an option.

Also, Lauzon recently announced the company’s entry into the commercial hardwood flooring market with its new finish, Titanium Traffic. This new polymerized finish can be applied to any of Lauzon’s premium Classics and NextStep collections.

“Once we developed the right formulation,” noted Robert Coveney, senior vice president of sales for Lauzon, “we knew we were ready to provide a new product for the commercial market that had a distinct competitive advantage. Titanium Traffic was re-searched to find a formula that would reduce traffic patterns, and then tested extensively before its introduction.”

The new Titanium Traffic finish features a clear, smooth finish that lets the wood’s natural beauty shine through, yet provides incredibly tough protection against daily wear and tear, he noted. As with all Lauzon flooring finishes, it also features Ultra-Fresh for resistance against microorganisms.

Titanium Traffic comes with a five-year light commercial warranty and a lifetime structural warranty. Coveney concluded, “We’re confident our distributors will be pleased to add this new commercial product to their offering and that their customers will certainly benefit from the superior quality of Lauzon’s products and our new Titanium Traffic. It’s an exciting new opportunity for all of us.”
