And it all began with Bob.
The first of twelve children, Bob Butler was born in Virginia. Although his first job was on a farm, Bob proudly served in the United States Air Force before landing in retail. It was while selling carpet door-to-door that Bob discovered his passion for flooring. And in 1969, Bob opened his doors in Bradenton, Florida.

Word of mouth quickly gained Bob a reputation for having the largest selection, the lowest prices, and outstanding service. As Bob’s Carpet & Flooring grew, the flooring industry began to change. Bob made sure that the company adapted accordingly. That ability to stay at the forefront of the industry spurred the evolution of Bob’s Carpet Mart into Bob’s Carpet & Flooring.

Now offering wood, vinyl, laminate and tile in addition to carpet, Bob’s Carpet & Flooring continues to grow, with 16 locations in Tampa Bay and the surrounding areas of Florida – and counting!

Despite the expansion, some things have not changed. Bob’s Carpet & Flooring continues to remain a family company, currently enjoying leadership by a third generation and long-tenured employees that have become family.
