Kaprelian Carpet and Flooring

In 1983 the Hawthorne Warehouse and Outlet was opened. In 1991 Gabriel’s son Glenn Kaprelian joined the company and began managing the Hawthorne location. In 1992 the Hawthorne Outlet was made into a full carpet show room. The Hawthorne location has gone through 2 expansions since then, and now carries a full range of specialty flooring as well as commercial and residential carpeting. The Ridgewood location has gone through its own metamorphosis as it re-designed its showroom and began carrying designer wool and nylon carpets and providing custom rugs and stair and hall runners.

The Ridgewood Store also continues to provide residential and commercial carpets, as well as hand and machine made area rugs. In 2002 Gabriel’s younger son Patrick joined the company and is currently a manager in the Ridgewood location. Kaprelian Carpets celebrated it’s 35th anniversary in 2004.

Kaprelian Oriental Rugs and Carpets prides itself as a true family business; along with Gabriel Kaprelian, and John Yilanjian, Isabelle Kaprelian has worked along side her husband for the past 35 years, Majda Kaprelian, Glenn’s wife joined the business as a saleswoman and merchandiser in 2000, and Nariné Kaprelian, Patrick’s wife recently joined as a part-timer. However, all who work and who shop at Kaprelian Oriental Rugs and Carpets are treated like family. We’ve served 3 generations of families, and are looking forward to serving the future generations.
