In 1984, true to Aspen’s do-it-yourself, entrepreneurial spirit, Tim Fortier opened Aspen Tile. We were — and remain — Aspen’s only local tile store. Word traveled fast, and we quickly earned a reputation for dedication to craft and integrity in business. Aspen Marble followed two years later, adding marble, granite and random stone to the fledgling company’s offerings.

Can an East Coast stone mason find happiness in the Colorado high country? Seems so. A mason since the age of 16, Tim Fortier chased the powder snow out to Aspen in 1979. With him, he brought a passion for tile and stone, and a knack for innovation.

Our Company
In the years since, Aspen Tile has grown into a versatile team of over 40 local designers, craftsmen and support personnel. We carry a vast and unusual array of decorative masonry materials, foreign and domestic, including the hard-to-find tile you’re looking for.

The Aspen Tile & Bath Gallery on 601 Rio Grande Place, Suite 102 (just past Rio Grande Park) is without doubt Aspen’s best spot for idea shopping in stone or tile. Take a wander of our 3600-square-foot showroom, past hand-painted tile in Southwestern or sylvan themes, Romanesque sculptured tiles, etched and bas relief tile. Turn a corner and find a wall of Italian granite samples, or local sandstones and marble.
