Norfolk Kitchen and Bath’s story started in 1934 when Norfolk Hardware & Home Center was founded by Lena and Benjamin Rosen. Lena and Benjamin Rosen immigrated to this country in the early 1900’s. After settling in the Mattapan area of Boston, Ben began a career as a plumber, installing water heaters & purchasing plumbing fittings from local hardware stores. His strong entrepreneurial spirit got him thinking about the possibility of buying his own supplies direct from the manufacturer, and even supplying to others like himself. He and Lena opened a small hardware store on Norfolk St. in Mattapan in 1934 and named it Norfolk Hardware. Eventually, the product offerings at Norfolk Hardware grew so extensive that they expanded the name to Norfolk Hardware & Home Center. Due to size constraints, Norfolk Hardware & Home Center eventually relocated to its current location on Morton Street in Mattapan, and recently underwent a complete store remodel in 2017.

Norfolk Kitchen & Bath originally started as part of the expanded product offerings at Norfolk Hardware & Home Center. Our original showroom is still located within the hardware store, although we have added 4 more great showrooms in MA & NH over the years. Norfolk Kitchen & Bath is New England’s largest and fastest-growing kitchen and bath company. We currently have 6 showrooms located in Boston, Braintree, Framingham, Manchester, Nashua & Salem. Norfolk Kitchen & Bath’s mission statement is to help people improve the quality of their homes by offering high-quality products & services at affordable prices. We are proud to offer kitchen & bath cabinetry, countertops & cabinet hardware for every style, taste & budget.

Norfolk Kitchen & Bath is a division of The Norfolk Companies. The Norfolk Companies consists of Norfolk Hardware and Home Center, Norfolk Kitchen & Bath, and Northeast Cabinet & Countertop Distributors, Inc. Each division of The Norfolk Companies is involved in supplying materials and services used in the home building and remodeling industries. We currently have almost 140 employees and continue to grow. We are still proudly family-owned and operated by the Rosen family. Today, Stewart Rosen is at the helm and has helped us grow exponentially since coming into the business in 1984. His son Benjamin, named after his great-grandfather, joined the business in 2004. If history has a way of repeating itself, Norfolk has a lot more growth in store.
