COOPER FLOORS WAS FOUNDED IN 1948 BY VIRGIL COOPER, AFFECTIONATELY REFERRED TO AS “COOP” BY HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY. WITHIN A FEW YEARS, COOP BUILT HIS SMALL BUSINESS TO BECOME A BUSTLING HARDWOOD SPECIALTY COMPANY.

Many of the hardwood floors around Orange County that were installed by Cooper Floors are now maintained with historical value. A young friend of the family, Blake Orgill, caught Mr. Cooper’s eye when, just out of high school and newly married, he showed an energetic work ethic. Blake apprenticed under Coop for several years to learn the hardwood-flooring trade. Eventually, he purchased Cooper Floors in 1983, offering Coop a chance to retire.

Today, Blake and Lauren Orgill have proudly owned and operated Cooper Floors as a family business for over 35 years. They are aware of their impressive accomplishment: to be one of the oldest hardwood flooring companies in Orange County. The couple continues to maintain the highest standards for quality work with attention to detail and provides exceptional customer service, all while continuing to incorporate Coop’s old-time craftsmanship skills.
