The Architect’s Newspaper Honors LATICRETE with the ‘Best of Products’ Awards
Sept. 28, 2020, Bethany, Conn. -- LATICRETE, a leading manufacturer of globally proven construction solutions for the building industry, has been honored by The Architect’s Newspaper in its sixth-annual “Best of Products” awards, which recognizes products from a variety of categories based on innovation, aesthetics, performance and value. SPECTRALOCKⓇ PRO Premium Translucent Grout was chosen as a winner in the “finishes and surfaces” category, while SPARTACOTE™ FLEX XPL Low Gloss was selected as an honoree for the “hardware” category, which includes tile, chemical anchors and adhesives.

“The focus for our products is to consistently deliver cutting-edge benefits and high-end aesthetics to the architectural community and SPECTRALOCK PRO Premium Translucent being named a winner in the ‘Best of Products’ awards is further evidence that we’re hitting the mark,” said LATICRETE Senior Product Manager, Ryan Blair. “At LATICRETE, we’re always working hard to offer innovative ways to make tile and stone installations stand out, and the light diffusion technology SPECTRALOCK PRO Premium Translucent Grout offers, does just that.”

SPECTRALOCK PRO Premium Translucent Grout is a patented high-performance epoxy grout that offers customers a unique opaque color that diffuses light for a vibrant finish. Designed for residential and commercial use on interior or exterior ceramic tile, glass tile and stone applications, it’s ideal for regrouting swimming pools, fountains and other wet areas. SPECTRALOCK PRO Premium Translucent Grout is an enhancement of SPECTRALOCK PRO Premium Grout, both offering superior non-sag performance, unmatched stain resistance and color uniformity for an even finish without any blotchiness or shading. For a high fashion look, SPECTRALOCK PRO Premium Translucent Grout can be paired with SPECTRALOCK DAZZLE™, which comes in twelve colors including Gold, Silver, Copper and Mother-of-Pearl, in addition to a Glow-in-the-Dark option.

“Recently added to the LATICRETE line of resinous flooring and decorating coatings systems, SPARTACOTE FLEX XPL Low Gloss is already achieving recognition in the architectural community for its customizable and beautiful aesthetics as well as its high performance,” said Ben Lampi, LATICRETE Product Manager. “Recognized as an honoree from a group of reputable industry experts, SPARTACOTE FLEX XPL Low Gloss proves it stands apart from other polyaspartics and epoxies on the market.”

SPARTACOTE FLEX XPL Low Gloss is a high solids, low VOC and minimal odor polyaspartic coating for both decorative and protective applications. Providing an attractive low gloss finish when used as a top coat, SPARTACOTE FLEX XPL Low Gloss is ideal for when understated, subtle light reflection is desired. Engineered to retain a low viscosity for longer periods of time, it allows for easier application and improved workability and can be applied in single or multiple coats. SPARTACOTE FLEX XPL Low Gloss provides optimal impact, abrasion and chemical resistance characteristics, making it convenient for high traffic applications and is ideal for use as a clear top coat within resinous flooring systems or direct to concrete as a low gloss sealer.

The Architect’s Newspaper ‘Best of Products’ awards is a highly-anticipated event in the AEC and design communities. Independent designers and manufacturers submit their most innovative products of the year in hopes of earning top honors across the award’s 33 product categories. Winners are selected by a jury composed of 12 leading architects, engineers, construction and design professionals and Architect’s Newspaper editors.
