Shaw Earns Recognition from Training and Selling Power Magazines
Dalton, Ga. - February 15, 2013- Shaw Industries has announced that the company has again been recognized by Training magazine as one of its annual "Training Top 125" training companies. Shaw was the first floor covering manufacturer to earn a place on the publication's awards list in 2005 and has made the list for the past nine years in a row. Training magazine is a leading business publication for learning and development professionals, and its Training Top 125 ranks companies' excellence in employer-sponsored training and development programs.
The rankings for the 125 leading organizations will be announced during an awards ceremony at the Training 2013 Conference & Expo, to be held February 18-20 in Orlando, Fla.
The Training Top 125 ranking is based on a number of benchmarking statistics, including training budget; number of training hours per employee program; hours of training per employee annually; and detailed formal programs. The ranking is determined by assessing a range of factors, including financial investment in employee development, the scope of development programs, and how closely such development efforts are linked to business goals and objectives.
Shaw has also been recognized by Selling Power magazine as one of the "50 Best Companies to Sell for Now." Shaw has made this prestigious list every year since 2001, the first year the magazine created its rankings. The magazine identifies and ranks the best companies to sell for among the largest sales forces in the country, companies typically with 500 or more sales people.
Three key categories are considered in determining the top companies: compensation, training, and career mobility. Each company is given an overall rating, and selections are made in the two general industries of manufacturing and service. The magazine ranks the top 25 manufacturing companies and the top 25 service companies to make up the list of top 50.
Danny Crutchfield, Shaw's director of corporate training and organizational development, said, "We're always excited to be recognized for what we do. It's positive recognition for all the trainers across our company who come to work every day to have an impact on their teammates and our business. It's nice to work for a company that truly wants to make a difference in the lives of our associates and our customers, and within the communities where we live."
