Tarkett facility green certified
HOUSTON—Tarkett has long touted itself as being an environmentally conscious manufacturer and with its facility here recently being certified to meet internationally recognized standards it now has one more piece of proof.
The facility, which produces Azrock branded products, was certified by third-party auditors to meet International Standard Organization’s (ISO) 14001 guidelines for its Environmental Management System (EMS). Part of 14001’s requirements includes prevention of pollution, and continual improvement and compliance with relevant national and local regulatory requirements.
“Resource stewardship and sustainable manufacturing practices are part of our corporate culture,” said Diane Martel, vice president environmental planning and strategy for Tarkett, North America. “It’s always been our goal to create flooring solutions that are good for people, the environment and the bottom line. It’s a natural progression that we can now include the Houston facility to the list of Tarkett manufacturing sites which meet ISO 14001 standards.”
