NALFA’s Lammy Awards, Faus named Company of the Year
LAS VEGAS—For the second year in a row, Fausfloor was the Member Company of the Year winner in the North American Laminate Flooring Association’s (NALFA) annual Lammy Awards competition.

This is the second year for the Lammy Awards, which were developed by NALFA to recognize individuals and companies “that have made the greatest contribution to the responsible growth of the laminate flooring segment throughout the past year.”

Juan Flores, president of the Faus Group, “appreciated the confidence expressed to the company by voting us again with this award.”

Torlys, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, walked away with the Lammy for Distributor/Retailer of the Year. Peter Barretto, president and head of the organization’s marketing committee, said NALFA “is all based on volunteerism and the individuals involved have put in a lot of work to create the standards and certification that are helping to raise the quality of laminate flooring. We will continue to build on that work and push for even more members and education. NALFA wants to be the authoritative voice of the laminate flooring industry.”

Bill Dearing, NALFA’s president, added to Barretto by noting a new standard for underlayments is now in the process of being developed.

Other Lammy winners this year include Pak-Lite as Associate Member Company of the Year, Dennis Bradway of Mannington Mills as Individual Member of the Year, and Mike Pawlisheck of Sekisui Voltek who was honored as Individual Associate Member of the Year.

Bradway said NALFA “is truly a good organization that is working for the benefit of the industry. It has already updated its original set of standards three times to keep up with new technologies.”

In commenting on this year’s winners, Dearing said, “These recipients have made substantial contributions to the industry, are serving as role models to many others within the industry and truly deserve to be awarded for their outstanding efforts.”
