J.J. Haines’ Wheeler to step down
GLEN BURNIE, MD.—Scott Wheeler, president of the Wheeler Division of J.J. Haines, will be leaving the company next month.

Wheeler, along with his father, Homer, started Wheeler Inc. 32 years ago. Scott Wheeler and his sister, Bonnie, grew the company to become one of the fastest- growing small businesses in Florida and one of the most well-respected, full-service floor covering distributors in the state.

J.J. Haines acquired Wheeler, which is based in Orlando, in 2007. At the time, Wheeler said there were numerous opportunities that a company like J.J. Haines could provide. “We can accelerate our growth within the Florida market and provide an even greater service to our customers.” As part of the transaction, Haines purchased the Wheeler name, facilities and other assets.

According to officials at J.J. Haines, Wheeler’s decision to retire is a result of his desire to spend more time with his family and more time at his new home in New York. Most recently, Wheeler’s sole duty was leading the Wheeler sales team.

“We wish Scott and his family the best,” said Bruce Zwicker, president/CEO of J.J. Haines. “He will be missed by all his employees, his loyal customers and his many friends throughout the industry.”
