Tischlager is a company focused on quality, eco-friendly furniture and decorative products for you and your home.

Susan Drescher is the sole proprietor and manages design and marketing. During Susan's more then twenty years of working in the corporate world, she also continued her education and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Wayne State University, with a concentration in Industrial Design. Although she has spent her life designing and creating unique objects and spaces she also has a background in both mechanical engineering and business development.

Susan has developed Tischlager with the goal of producing exquisitely designed, environmentally friendly products of the highest quality. She is dedicated to helping her clients get the most out of their personal space.
Susan’s studio is located in Michigan but her pieces can and have been shipped globally.

All furniture is built in either Susan’s studio or by a local cabinet maker, who supplies some of the highest quality case goods in the custom built industry. Pieces are made from locally fallen trees or FSC certified woods. Check the product page to read a description of the wood and its origin. The pieces are built with extraordinary durability and functionality, so that they can have a cherished, useful, and longstanding place in the home.

Niches are made in the USA and can be recycled. Care is taken during manufacturing to reclaim all scrap so that little or nothing is wasted.
Knit, felt and fabric pieces are made by hand. Jewelry uses wool that is hand felted and pared with new and vintage beads and re-claimed jewelry parts. Each piece is one of a kind and none are mass produced.

In addition to caring for the planet Tischlager is also a supporter of humanitarian efforts and has recently made an agreement with Habitat for Humanity. To help the community, a pledge of one dollar for each Modern Niche sold will be donated to Habitat’s "Women Build" program.
