Sandhill's glass-fusing technology marks a new level in contemporary tile evolution. Our Company's roots come from a basic need to keep the environment clean and productive. Founded in 1998 in Fairbanks, Alaska, Sandhill was awarded a grant from the Alaska Science and Technology Foundation to develop an innovative glass-fusing technology which utilizes 100% recycled glass. The outcome of a two year research project resulted in the tile line that Sandhill produces today. Not only are our products made from 100% recycled glass, which is otherwise destine for landfills, each tile takes less than one-half of the energy to produce than ceramic tile, and less than one-fourth of the energy it takes to produce a cast-glass tile.

In May, of 2002, Sandhill relocated its manufacturing facility to Boise, Idaho. This positions our company closer to both our raw materials and our customers. We offer a product for commercial and residential applications with great versatility, available in 36 colors from light to dark, subtle to bright. We are proud to offer such an aesthetically beautiful product while maintaining our commitment to the environment. We recently received the EPA Evergreen award for our environmental excellence and leadership, and hope to continue to grow, bringing our philosophy and products to you. The intrigue of Sandhill's Glass comes not only from its beauty but also the history and hard work behind this simple and stunning tile.
