The Wooden Duck was started in 1995 when Amy Ferber & Eric Gellerman began importing recycle Teak Furniture from Indonesia. Over the years, we have gradually expanded our scope to include production in various countries throughout the world. Currently we also import from China and Morocco, as well as manufacturing locally in our own factory.

Our principal goal has always been to offer our customers high quality, simply styled furniture at the lowest prices possible while maintaining our commitment to the environment by using recycled materials as we are dedicated to preserving the world's forest through the exclusive use of reclaimed timber. There are many advantages to using recycled wood over new. Using old wood saves trees. Furthermore, old wood is more stable than new and therefore leads to fewer problems with swelling and warping. Much of the salvaged wood is of a quality that cannot be found with new wood. It is more dense, clearer (fewer knots), and has a much richer color than new growth. Finally, it is impossible to get the patina of aged wood from anything but old wood. Our styles are inspired by classic American styles like Shaker, Craftsman and Modern as well as Asian designs. All pieces are designed with functionality in mind.
