My focus as a color consultant/designer is to bring an in-depth approach of supportive color design to all areas of my work. I enjoy working directly with a client, or collaborating with other design and construction professionals in a creative way that adds to the overall value of a project.
 
 IACC accredited Color Consultant/Designer
 Specialized training in the field of applied color psychology and human response to color, through the International Association of Color Consultants/Designers (IACC), provides the breadth of vision in my work that will enhance a commercial, residential, institutional, or corporate environment. My thesis subject for IACC: The Importance of Color in an Elementary School.
 
 Professional association with Color Marketing Group (CMG) provides industry contacts and cutting-edge trend information. "Color Marketing Group" is an international association whose membership includes leaders in color and trend forecasting as well as product designers from all industry segments. As a member of this organization, we help define the colors that appear in products you use throughout your personal and business environments.

 Barbara Jacobs studied fine arts at the Academia di Belle Arti in Florence, Italy; the University of California, Berkeley, where she studied with David Hockney and Adja Yunkers; and the University of Minnesota, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in studio art with a concentration in painting and printmaking.
 
 From 1986 to 1990 she was awarded grants from the Massachusetts Council on the Arts to teach design seminars on traditional design and decorative arts techniques of many cultures. Since 1983 she has used a variety of artistic and decorative finish techniques to create innovative color finishes, murals, and other furnishings for residential and commercial interiors.
 
 Since 1983 she has worked in many areas of surface design and decorative finishing. Throughout this time her work has been produced in many venues of the design marketplace, from print design for the garment industry to contract wall coverings.
 
 Ms. Jacobs has been a contributor to the Junior League of Boston Decorator's Showhouse, 1994, and the Pilgrim Society of Plymouth Designer Showhouse, 1998.
 
 Her published articles on the subject of color design for the built environment have appeared in the New England Real Estate Journal, Structures (Banker and Tradesman), Shopping Center World, and local newspapers. Ms. Jacobs has been a guest lecturer for Wentworth Institute of Technology, the Boston Design Center, Build Boston (a trade show of the BSA), RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) and the premier trade events for contract interiors, NEOCON South (Atlanta) and NEOCON (Chicago).
 
 Ms. Jacobs is an accredited Color Consultant/Designer of the IACC, International Association of Color Consultants/Designers, and a member of Color Marketing Group
