When it comes to buying flooring for your Colorado home, there’s only one store in the Vail Valley to visit: Ruggs Benedict Carpet One Floor & Home, located in Avon between Vail and Beaver Creek. Having served Aspen and the Vail Valley for 40 years, you can be confident that you are working with flooring experts. From design and selection, all the way through installation, we have the experience that makes a difference!

It all started in 1972 when Roger Benedict left college to open Ruggs Benedict with his two brothers. Together, they installed hardwood, carpet, and tile out of a garage in Minturn trailer park. Finding success from providing customers in Vail and Beaver Creek with superior service and high-quality installation, the business continued to grow.

After twenty years of success in beautiful installations, Roger decided it was time to look toward the future. In 1988, he decided to move from his van to a brick and mortar store, where Ruggs Benedict Carpet One officially opened its doors. Every aspect of the business since then has been meticulously cared for, from the quality of the products offered to the attention to detail on every installation.

Our store employees also take pride in their work at Ruggs Benedict, and several of them have been with us for many years. Alfonso is one of our employees who manages installations. He has been with Ruggs Benedict since the early nineties. Mandy has been with us full-time since 1993, and Gigi since 2001.

In 2014, Alfonso, Mandy, and Gigi became the new owners of Carpet One, though Roger is still very involved! Today, the store continues to focus on satisfying every customer on every job, and Ruggs Benedict has grown over the past 40 years to become the leading flooring store in the region.
