Smitty's Floor Covering was founded in 1958 by Mansell "Smitty" Smith. From the start of our journey, family members have always been a part of our business. We strive to set our business apart from other floor covering stores. Smith's mother Flossie came to work for him at the very start, and soon other relatives joined the team as well. His son, Ricky Smith, began installing floors at the age of 16. Smitty's daughter, Darlene Rogers, came to work in 1974 to learn the business. In 1988, Smitty retired and turned the business over to Ricky and Darlene. Together they operate the business on a daily basis. Ricky's children, Brian Smith and Natalie Smith, also help with the daily operations.
