Our History: Richard Vallow started a carpet installation service in 1964 which operated out of his home in Hamel, IL and catered to small retailers in the Madison County area. In 1974 Mr. Vallow introduced carpet sales out of his home; at the same time Mark Vallow and Seth Renken were assisting with flooring installations. In the fall of 1981, the three along with Rich’s wife Beverly Vallow opened a retail store front in Edwardsville, IL.

Over the next decade the company not only expanded with it's staff and installers but also converted existing warehouse space to accomodate more retail display area. An additional warehouse extension was constructed in 1985 and an expansion built for more showroom display in 1991. To keep pace with the growing Edwardsville community and the ever changing flooring industry, a wholesale flooring outlet was introduced in 1999 just across the street from Vallow’s main store. This addition provided more inventory capability and catered to the small contractor as well as the do-it-yourself homeowner. 2006 marked a year of transition once again with a move across town and the opening of a full service flooring center combining remodel and new construction for residential and commercial all under one roof. This 15,000 sq. ft. facility is located just off highway 157 South near Center Grove Rd. The flooring design center and wholesale outlet offers customers numerous choices of styles, qualities, textures and colors with every budget in mind. A friendly, experienced and knowledgeable staff is always ready to assist customers with any flooring or tile project they may have.

Today, Vallow Floor Coverings, Inc. continues to be one of the most recognized family owned floor covering retailers spanning beyond Madison County and into the greater St. Louis and metro-east region. Customers have seemingly limitless options in terms of selection from an expanded line of both floor coverings and wall tile as well as certified professional installation. “Floor coverings” include pattern, textured and loop pile carpeting, ceramic tile, travertine, natural stone, glass and porcelain tile, natural solid and engineered hardwoods, sheet vinyl, luxury vinyl planks and tiles, laminated flooring, custom bound area rugs, and much much more.
