I cannot find a statement on this issue and have
not seen an installation of this to the best of my knowledge.
I still think the glue, whether it be a bead or not, would leave a
thickness at the edge and hollow in the middle?

I don't know what it is, but something does not sound right
about this procedure to me.

Ray, call the NWFA, they will tell you,,,it has been recommended
by them for years, nailing and gluing, the late Mrs. Bonnie and I
had a long discussion on it once years ago,,,,I had inspected a
12 wide pin plank in a home on the coast, gaps everywhere, the
installer said he used a recommended adhesive and nailed
it,,,,ok, now actually, he used staples on a 12" wide pine
plank,,,any comments on that? and, he glued it saying the NWFA
had told him that was ok,,,,I called, and she said they had some
standards for doing both on wide planks,,,,,,and many installers
today swear by it for wide planks,,,,so, call, I am sure
Miss Bonnie was not in the habit of lying and I am not either.
so, go have some fun,,,,end the confrontational approach and
share guys.
