It is what it is. It is in black and white.

Show me where your standards are written.

I told you that the mills used to make informational labels to be applied to the sample pieces of carpets stores had for customers.

On those labels, the mills used to put the tuft bind and the face weights. That was their written standards back then and I lived them every day Ray, so go play blind mans bluff with idiots, because I know better.

You aren't old enough to speak on such a topic Perry.

He does not have to be old enough. There are standards he can quote.

Jim,
Inspectors make no rules or write standards. We have no opinions. We deal in facts and reference standards written by either ANSI, CFI, CRI, IICRC, NOFMA, ASTM, FHA..

I told you and Perry- Ray, but ya'll obviously never worked at a top of the line corporation,--like Miami Rug Co. That's ok Ray, you and Perrry can come at me as a team, I can handle it, I assure you.

By the way Ray, do you think there are other adults reading this board, that do understand? Do you really think you fool them and do you think they like people like you and Perry treating them like they don't know anything?

You are a funny man Ray.

Standards are standards

Jim,
Rules are rules and Standards are Standards.
Manufacturer set standards for products they manufacturer and Industry Standards are minimum standards.
We, as inspectors, do not quote personal opinions or have personal opinions and do not have the luxury of using personal opinions in our Consulting or Inspection projects.
You are an experienced man in the Carpet Industry with opinions. Perry, being an inspector, cannot quote or reference anything other than accepted/recognized Industry Standards or Manufacturer Specifications (Installation, Environmental, ect).
You have a right, as an installer, to have personal opinions, but we cannot quote you.

Industry standards and professionalisim in this industry were lost long ago and never retrieved. Miami Rug Co was a top of the line corporation and I'm pretty sure they are still in operation today. They chose the Roberts method of installation, because as a top of the line corporation, they knew the best when it was presented to them.

Site all you want, but the installers that worked for the best in this industry, did enjoy being taught by the best.

The rest were apartment shag raggers.
