It was almost 30 years ago—Jan. 7, 1979, to be exact—that the industry attended the City of Hope’s Golden Torch of Hope Award Banquet in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Chicago. The event was held during the Chicago winter market and honored Peter Spirer, president of Horizon Industries.
