Then tell us Ray, how big is the pattern and is there a drop in the pattern?
How many pattern matched carpets have you installed Ray?
You claimed this carpet was already replaced once. So if the same guy replaced it once, why didn't the inspector show a pattern difference the first time and hire someone else.
Be careful Ray, this is a trick question.

Jim, I have not installed in 20 years and have no intention of working that hard again.
I did not measure the pattern as I did not need to. I can SEE the pattern not matched at the seam. I can See the light reflecting across the Peaked seams. I can put light directly onto the seam edge and SEE if there is a color difference or not;; it's called an inspection light.
The purpose of this photo is to display the shadow at a peaked seam with the light souce coming through the High and Low WIndows on the exterior wall. It is what it is. And it is a peaked seam, shadow, pattern problem.
