If ever the 'New' stays yellow, even though you've viewed that thread, simply click on Tools (in the address bar), then Internet Options, then under 'Browsing History' click on delete, and once your options appear, click on Delete Cookies.

Your cookie cache becomes full and no longer recognizes you visiting a thread or post and needs to periodically be cleaned out by following the instructions above.
