If I could get my wife and kids to live in a tent and quit eating for a few months, I might be able to afford to go.

I have never been, but am going this year. I heard about a woven seminar and based on that I made reservations and purchased airfare, only to find out that the seminar is only an hour. Oh well, it will be a good break and getaway for my family.
Looking forward to meeting several from the various boards there. Jon Scanlan will be there, I've wanted to meet him for quite a while.

Jon and his lovely wife had to touch down in Charlotte for an hour. We are cold now, so, that is ten times colder than they like!

Selva, The company I work for doe's not pay for my trip to surfaces. I go to the Carpet One convention on their dime so I would not fell right having them pay for surface's also. And yes Barry your buying the coffee.

Well we got to Vegas but we were to late to go to the first day of Surfaces after a fantastic cruise from LA through the Panama Canal to Fort Lauderdale which took 14 days. At Suraces we met up with half dozen or so people from another board. All fantastic people to meet with and put a face to those names. Even Barry was there with this family. A very nice guy. I couldn't get over finially meeting him after all our talks on Skype. Barry was finially real like when I meet Selva a couple of years ago. They are real

It was a dismal failure this year, low attendance.
Some booths got less than 30 stops

All the vendors I talked to there and afterwards said they had a very good show even better then last year. Yes traffic was down but lots of companys only sent their buyers not just lookers. I am sure there where some people down stairs in the back or some one that did not have a lot to offer that was slow, but you have vendors like that every year.

Every rep I talked to said it was not as normal and far below what was expected.
I deal with almost every major distributor in the nation and they all said the same thing.
We had thought about but I cannot justfiy the expense in this economy. Some times I want to put a face behind the name here at Indianafloorsllc.com with some of the suppliers. but the face we put on best is George's face.
I am glad we did not pursue the thought process.

Scott Roy from JJ Haines countries biggest Dist. and I talk all the time and he was pleased with the show. Mr. Cambell ceo from Mannington also told me it was a good year, Frank Ready ceo from Armstrong was glad they came this year ( room of the side of show ) Daltile,Schulter and others I talked to echoed the same thing. Like I said traffic was way down but if you stop and think if every company that went took one less person that would cut it down by at lest a third but you would still have the same amount of buyer's. Look at it this way I have 3 people come into the store Husband and wife with teen age son next time the son is not with them that means I have one third less people but the same amount of buyers. Hugh I am not saying that it was the best year but I do feel it could have been a lot worse and it was still worth going.

I am glad I went and met people again that I have known for a long time. The big boss of our company was the buyer. I just suggested
