Roland, I was near TCA today, I stopped by, they let me look at the new 137 ANSI standards, that is, the lady held it up to see and said, see, it is here but we are waiting on ANSI,,,,so, I can honestly say, I saw it,,,did not touch it, did not read it, but, I saw it, and the V scale is in there,

That is funny, they would only let you look but not touch. Heading out to CA. at 9am to the WCFA for a meeting will be back on Sunday, will be taking my lap top in case I get some time.

I was wondering the same thing. This site seems to have died over the last week.

Maybe some new (fresh) threads are needed. Some of the old threads have some mileage on them.
On any forum board, it takes the effort of everyone participating to inject new and thought-provoking topics for discussion.
The economy could also be weighing heavily on the minds of many...

Perhaps Roland could post some goings on over there at the WFCA? Eh Roland?

Roland, the 137 is out, and it is good, looks simpler to read and understand,

If you have never been a member of the WFCA now would be the time. They are adding some much to help the consumer understand the value of proper installation and more. You can join as an installer or inspector and get the same benifits as a retailer. If you have any questions give me a call.

Well got back last night from CTEF and I got to take a tour of TCNA and see how they did the standard testing. I also got my hands on the new ANSI book so it was well worth the trip.

Roland, how did you like the German slip/fall resistance test?
I want to try that one someday, do they still have that machine?

Yea it is funny how you have to train to relax so you will slip and trust in the harrness to catch you. Now the new robots that have the rubber feet seem to work ok.

People always ask me to install ceramic tile out on their patio. I seeit alot round here. But I am reluctant to install certain tiles.
Whats the skinny on that for outside?

I hate outside work but I have been using either a good porcelain or stone and a thinset that I modify like Kerabond with the Keralastic additive.

No Jerry, the surface. Whats good and whats not for the slip resistance outside?
It's mostly older people who want tile outside on the patio. I envision them slipping and breaking a hip.

outdoor tile, indoor tile, I think stone works best but, how about, concrete blocks! yea, thats it, turn the whole world into one big concrete block!

People want flow. Same tile as inside. Do they make same style in both inside and outside? I never asked.

Most, if not all, PEI 4 or 5 porcelains can be used indoors and outdoors. You would not choose a high polished Crossville though..... something with a texture would be better. To tell you the truth most people around here are using slate or paver's.
