Work is still not what we would like it to be. What I find is the people that are buying are spending on better flooring, have been doing more wool and wood. Dura Ceramic has also realy taken off for us . These are a few of the that are selling.

Slow times might be the best time to look at things like your online Web presence. I was slow during the summer and redid my own website and it is producing more work for me now. I did some research for a floor covering article and found that about 40% of dealers throughout the country didn't even have websites. Half of those who did have sites looked terrible. The remaining attractive websites had major problems like difficult navigation, no lead-generating copy, too many keywords, etc. These are things that are easily fixable and could bring in those customers that are slipping through the cracks.

I have heard nothing but starvation stories from others in this area.
I have been absolutely swamped. I cannot do all the work I have on the calendar. I am having to juggle in a way I have seldom had to. Big jobs too.

I think I can work solid though the end of the year making about half of my average yearly income in only two months.

It is unbelievable!!!!

Yet i am careful to 'keep on the watch' for changes that seem inevitible.

I get requests for Duraceramic but I do not offer it. I have good friend locally that swears by it and sells it, I will not compete against him.

I have heard the it will chip on the edges. I also hear complaints that the grout will discolor easy. I dont know if these are founded issue I have not seen it

As far as the website issue, I hear ya I maintian my own site also, but we have grown beyond our expectations and have not caught up yet. I need to redo a lot of my site,I am a having new product cart being built the old one is outdated already.
More people get online everyday and the site must be warm and user friendly, and constantly updated. We get many compliments on the sight and people appreciate a famliy business. We show well over 3 mil hits and over 200k page views.

Dura Ceramic has been a very hot product. As far to the claim of edge concerns that was with durastone and they have taken care of the concerns when they came out with Dura Ceramic.
We just finished up with a very good month are seeing more movement.
