Shamrock’s Irish Heritage Focus Of Marketing Program
Article Number: 931

Memphis, Tenn.—Shamrock Plank Flooring recently launched a new marketing campaign that pays tribute to the company’s Irish heritage and encourages distributors to choose wide and long plank flooring from Shamrock.

Shamrock Plank Flooring, founded here in 2003, is the sister company of J.T. Shannon Lumber Co., a business that has been owned and operated by three generations of the Shannon family, which traces its heritage to Ireland.

The campaign features Irish blessings and limericks, such as “May your floors be made of hardwood and your planks wide and long,” and will be featured in print advertising, direct mail, collateral materials, specialty items, and a new trade show booth that was unveiled at Surfaces 2006.

The trade show booth was reminiscent of an Irish pub, complete with a handcrafted bar, pub tables with bar stools, a dartboard, Irish-inspired artwork, and sales representatives in authentic Irish rugby shirts. Booth visitors walk away with T-shirts that are shrink-wrapped in the shape of a shamrock and drink coasters with the Shamrock logo.

“We believe our new campaign is reflective of who we are as a company,” said Mandy Beloate, marketing manager for Shamrock. “We wanted to reveal our approachable personaility to distributors and communicate that Shamrock and plank flooring are synonymous.”
