Baltimore, MD (September 4, 2014) Online registration is now open for the 12th annual NeoCon East. The East Coast’s premier design exposition and conference for commercial interiors will showcase thousands of products across a wide range of sectors, including workplace, government, healthcare, hospitality, retail, education, and public spaces. The two-day event will be held from October 29-30, 2014 at the Baltimore Convention Center. This year’s show will be filled with a host of new initiatives and events including a new floor plan, special GSA features, a powerful conference program headlined by two highly influential women in design/architecture and presentations by industry partners. Organizers also have a few surprises up their sleeves including a fun and interactive on-site event to benefit Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA).

EXHIBITORS
NeoCon East 2014 will feature a new floor plan with expanded product categories and an easy to navigate layout that will include interior building products, technology, interior finishes + materials, and furniture and flooring. The trade fair will showcase more than 250 exhibitors including key returnees Herman Miller, OFS Brands, Arcadia, The Mohawk Group, Teknion, Versteel and CF Stinson to name a few. Sparkeology, Nemo Tile, National Lighting, Fritztile and Quartzmaster will join the lineup as first time exhibitors.

SPECIAL GSA FEATURES
Supported by GSA and conveniently located near Washington DC, NeoCon East offers the largest concentration of products and services under GSA's Multiple Awards Schedules Program. Government employees with valid I.D. can take advantage of complimentary registration, informative CEU accredited educational seminars coded with a [W] or [T] as well as an education track presented by GSA experts. Complimentary shuttle buses will provide ease in transportation from Washington DC and Philadelphia to and from the Baltimore Convention Center. Representatives from the GSA Integrated Workplace Acquisition Center (IWAC) will be in attendance to help federal employees and exhibitors navigate through the government procurement process. Prior to the show, on Tuesday, October 28, the GSA and its Schedule vendors will meet for the GSA’s Quality Partnership Conference.

KEYNOTES
Keynote presenters Irena Savakova and Shashi Caan will lay the foundation for this year’s conference program:

Wednesday, October 29 at 11am
Savakova is an award-winning designer focused on architectural and interior development for federal, corporate commercial and educational facilities. With AECOM since 1996, she has led or contributed to the architectural design of new, freestanding federal administrative facilities for the Army and Air National Guard Bureau, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, and NASA. She designed the newly completed Social Security Administration Campus in Baltimore and recently provided conceptual design for US embassies in Zimbabwe and Mauritania.

Thursday, October 30 at 11am
Caan is an internationally recognized architect, designer, thought leader for progressive design and the Founding Principal of the SC Collective US/UK. Her practice is devoted to listening, researching, rethinking and reinterpreting design challenges through a unique collaborative process and a focus on social conditions and quality of life. She is a recent past president of the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers and author of the seminal book Rethinking Design and Interiors: Human Beings in the Built Environment.

SPECIAL EVENTS
This year, the NeoCon East community will welcome a new industry partner as the show gets set to host an event to benefit DIFFA. In addition to food and cocktails throughout the show floor, the opening day party (4-6PM) will play up the show’s Halloween timing and feature festive trick or treating. Proceeds will help support direct care for people living with HIV/AIDS and provide preventative education for those at risk. The two-day schedule also features presentations including IIDA’s Breaking Boundaries Breakfast featuring Helen Marriage of Artichoke (10/29 at 8AM), Design Leadership Council of Washington DC’s Professional Bridges – Leveraging our Differences in the Design Industry (10/29 at 3pm) and BIFMA/IIDA’s Design Leveraged: A Special Report (10/30 at 8am) to name a few.

CONTINUING EDUCATION
In addition to dynamic keynote speakers, the show offers more than 30+ CEU-accredited seminars over twelve different educational tracks - Subjects ranging from Collaborative Workplace Design to Color Theory for Healing Environments and Construction Administration for Interiors. All seminars will be filed with respective associations including AIA, IDCEC, GBCI and NCQLP for continuing educational credits. Registration is required as seating is limited. Seminar fees vary. All GSA sponsored seminars under the GSA educational track are free to all attendees.
