Missoni, Prestige Mills Offer New ‘Floor Fashions’
Article Number: 855

Long Island City, N.Y.—Strong color and graphic texture transform the floor as Prestige Mills introduces Missoni’s new line of broadlooms. Most successful for simulating their famous fashion knitwear, Missoni designs feature geometric themes, striped effects and checked patterns, noted Prestige president, Peter Feldman. Prestige Mills, which will be located in booth 6407 at Surfaces 2006, will showcase these introductions.

One of these new lines is Umbria, which shows its stripes with alternating bands of bold color. The loop pile construction and placement of color offer a textured effect to each stripe. The 12-ft. width is available in one rich colorway.

Impulse bridges the gap between contemporary and traditional design and brings a new twist to checks, noted Feldman. Alternating colors move across a grid of black and neutral. Presented in five vi-brant colorways, the broadloom is 12-ft. wide.

“Until now, if you wanted a Missoni on the floor you were limited to area rugs,” said Feldman. “At Surfaces 2006, Prestige Mills will introduce a line of Missoni broadloom that offer decorating options for a larger audience be it residential, corporate or hospitality. Missoni’s unique mix of color, texture and weave have been integrated into 16 graphic and illusionary patterns rendered in wool.”

Inspired by one of the Missoni’s most successful area rugs, Mikonos features large multi-colored squares that create a fashion-forward geometry in broadloom. The wilton construction with cut pile is 13-1/6-in. wide and available in one warm colorway.
