Article Number: 843

Syosset, N.Y.— Stanton Carpet has appointed Robert Twardzik as its new senior product manager. He will report directly to Sy Cohen, the mill’s president, and Jonathan Cohen, executive vice president, and work closely with head designer Jacquie Beasant.

Twardzik will assume responsibility for product development and management, including sourcing and identifying new opportunities for growth as well as maximizing Stanton’s current production potential, noted Sy Cohen. His position will take him all over the world to bring to the marketplace the best in soft flooring.

“Robert is certainly a talented, personable and hard-working professional,” said Cohen. “He will be an excellent addition to the Stanton team.” “Twardzik will be a tremendous resource for creative and innovative advances,” added Jonathan Cohen.

Twardzik has worked as the director of interiors for many hospitality projects, including the $50 million senior living facility, Sun City Takatsuki, in Osaka, Japan, and was also the lead designer of the Perceptions Collection for Lees Carpet. “His vast experience in textile development crosses many categories of design, including carpeting, wall coverings and furniture, among others,” said Sy Cohen.

Twardzik has merchandised and launched many major home accessories collections as well. “Stanton offers me the unique opportunity of being involved with a product collection from start to finish,” said Twardzik. “And it’s always exciting to design using the best-quality materials and top craftsmen.”

Stanton has also created two new regional positions as Jim Lampros has been named to the post of Midwest regional vice president, while Rich Crawford has been appointed Stanton’s West Coast regional manager. Both will report directly to George Forte, vice president of sales.

Lampros, formerly the Midwest regional vice president for Abbey Carpet, joins Stanton with more than 25 years of industry experience. Prior to his tenure, he served as divisional vice president at Beaulieu of America, regional vice president of sales for World Carpets in the Midwest and vice president of sales for J.P. Stevens Co./Gulistan for the Western U.S.

Finally, Stanton has made its feature film debut alongside two of Hollywood’s rising young stars, Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst, in director Cameron Crowe’s latest movie, “Elizabethtown.” The movie’s poster, which graces billboards, magazine pages, movie theatre showcases and more around the country, features a patterned rug by Stanton, Ramona in Crimson 581.
