Debuting this month at the Atlanta Rug Market (suite #6-B-5), Origins is an innovative collection featuring “an eclectic array of attractive and versatile designs,” she said. “Each design features Tradition-al, Modern, Southwest and Mission styles that are broadly appealing and boast a subtle palette reminiscent of desert sands. The distinct feature of these rugs lends a handmade appearance that is both durable and stylish.”
Origins features earthen browns, taupes and sandy neutrals. Origins’ versatile designs are woven in 100% olefin, bringing an intense richness to the color and the promise of lasting comfort, she noted.
“Part contemporary and part classic, Shaw Living’s Origins is versatile enough to feel at home in any environment,” said Bar-ta. “Origins includes:
• City Streets - a modern interpretation of a mission-style rug that echoes the aesthetic of the 20th century American Arts & Crafts Movement;
• Metro - a unique texture-on-texture design. Layered colors and shapes combine to create a retro statement with an ultra modern twist;
• Luna - echoing the path of a lunar eclipse, this rug is a study in geometry. Clever use of color creates an optic drama;
• Palladian - classic Persian styling paired with a modern textured hand. This rug has versatile design appeal and comes in several color combinations, and
• Cadence - layered shapes and soft edges create a harmonious depth and intrigue. This cutting-edge design is at once modern and elegant.”

Also debuting in 2006, Shaw Living’s Century Collection combines classic Persian designs in the comfort of soft 100% olefin. The collection will offer a wide array of 20 traditional design choices. The new color palette features rich reds, warm neutrals and golds, soft greens and accents of eggplant, brown and vintage blue.
Century collection rugs are available in an assortment of different sizes and suggested retail for a medium-sized product is $379.
Shaw Living will also introduce its first full line of indoor and outdoor rugs, Terrace, in 2006. Featuring colors that coordinate with the latest patio furniture color trends, in-cluding sand, wheat and sage, the rugs are designed for porches, patios, outdoor fireplaces, pool areas, sun and mud rooms.
All four designs—Gar-den District, Laurel, La-guna and Ansley—feature layers or “capped” patterns that create a stunning play of colors, noted Barta.
Terrace boasts an all-new product design, she said. “Beautiful and dur-able,” the rugs are made from Hi-UV solution-dyed olefin for enhanced fade re-sistance. All Terrace rugs are guaranteed to resist fading for three years. Ter-race also features Thermal-bonded construction for su-perior wet/dry performance.
Terrace rugs are available in two sizes, 5-ft.5-in.X7-ft.8-in. and 8X10-ft. The suggested retail for a 5-ft.5-in.X7-ft.8-in. is $69.99.
Shaw Living’s classic Tommy Bahama Collection will feature 15 designs from a new colorway. There will be new traditional designs, as well as patterns with the unique Tommy Bahama tropical style. The collection helps recreate the lush island feel of the Caribbean with its vivid colors that have become the hallmark of the brand. Colors in-clude Gold, Scarlet, Expres-so and Evergreen paired with Eggplant, Vintage Blue, Sage and Copper. They are woven of durable, easy-care, soft olefin.
Tommy Bahama rugs are available in sizes 2-1/6X3-1/4-ft. to 9-1/4X12-11/12-ft. and suggested retail for a medium-sized rug is $429.
Four new designs will be added to Shaw Living’s popular Kathy Ireland rug collection in 2006. Kathy Ireland Home First Lady by Shaw Living features unique colorways in vivid red, deep coral and warm greens, paired with a rich brown and turquoise blue. Craft-ed with the unique hand of Shaw’s EverTouch nylon, the rugs’ traditional de-signs and classic combinations help create an air of sophistication in any room, noted Barta.
Jardin du Jour, design-ed by landscape architect Nicholas Walker, highlights Ireland’s commitment to developing products for summer homes, sunrooms, screened-in-porches, patios and any other living space associated with the outdoors. They are woven of durable, easy-care olefin.
Kathy Ireland Home First Lady by Shaw Living’s suggested retail price for a mid-sized rug is $589.
Jardin du Jour rugs are available in an assortment of sizes from small to large and suggested retail for a mid-sized rug is $349.
