Oahu, Hawaii—Kleen-Tex, a La-Grange, Ga.-based manufacturer of carpet mats, donated five custom mats to the USS Missouri Memorial Association for its 60th anniversary commemorating the end of World War II. The event drew more than 2,900 visitors including WWII veterans and other veterans.

The mats were presented by Young Laundry & Dry Cleaning on behalf of the manufacturer. One of the mats titled “Our World At War” will be displayed indefinitely in the Missouri’s wardroom which also features the new WWII exhibit and is one of the most heavily trafficked sites on the ship, noted Bruce Howard, Kleen-Tex’ president. Another mat is scheduled to become part of the memorial’s CPO Legacy Center which is scheduled to open later this year.
