Ceramiche Monocibec, poolside safety
Article Number: 8193

Sassuolo, April 3, 2013 - Practicality and safety, aesthetic appearance and functionality are all components which form the basis for the creation and installation of a swimming pool dedicated to families on vacation. A design challenge brilliantly overcome by Luca Forghieri, who developed the swimming pool areas of Punta Grò Residence in Sirmione (Brescia), thanks to Monocibec materials.

Located on the southern shore of Garda lake, just a few kilometres from Peschiera and Sirmione, Punta Grò Residence was established in the early seventies consisting of 20 residential buildings, located on an extensive 50,000 sq.m., green canopied garden. Renovated in 2011, this complex has two swimming pool facilities, a spa tub, and a children's pool. The project for the pool areas, however, called for material with very specific technical characteristics, to ensure the safety of users, large and small, durability and ease of property maintenance and furthermore needed to be aesthetically pleasing and modern.

According to the designers, the fine porcelain stoneware collection Geotech by Monocibec, is the product that responds better to all technical requirements and safety standards. Laid in Pietra Dorata colour, alternating between two sizes, 25x50 and 25x25 cm, Geotech is a collection of flooring designed for outdoor use, uniquely available with a natural finish and natural edge and characterised by excellent anti-slip properties (R11 - A + B).

Monocibec is a trademark of Fincibec Group, creator and promoter of the Quinquennial Tile Award, the prize given to architects and designers who creatively and originally use ceramics created by Monocibec, Century and Naxos. The design of the Punta Grò Residence was recommended by the expert judges of the second edition awards which ended in April. The Third Edition of the Quinquennial Tile Award is under-way and open to designers, architects, interior designers, planners and project developers even without qualifications, who have used ceramic materials from the Fincibec Group for projects between 2009 and 2013. Registration is open until 25 March, 2014. All information regarding, regulations, registration can be found visiting www.tileaward.org.
