Barbara Jacobs, owner and designer of Silk Road Weaves - Fine Tibetan Rugs, offers a unique educational experience for architects and design professionals.
Titled "The How-To of Custom Rug Design", Jacobs describes the class as a way for design professionals to experience the design process of making a custom rug without having to order an entire rug.
"It's a great way for design professionals to see the raw materials, and find out about the process from start to finish. I am hoping to spark their creativity and confidence in specifying the components in the exciting process of having a custom rug made."
The class is in 2 parts; the first meeting will be the introduction and design class, and the 2nd meeting, 6-9 weeks later, will be when they receive the actual design samples they have developed in the 1st meeting. States Jacobs, "This will be a very focused design experience. We'll hear each other's inspirations for materials and colors, see each others work, and learn from the many ways that the same design can appear different, according to each designer's ideas. I'm delighted that the BAC is so enthusiastically supporting this unique opportunity."
Enjoy the experience of working with beautiful fibers in the new 2-part workshop presented by Barbara Jacobs, owner and developer of Silk Road Weaves--the Boston-area rug company specializing in unique, fine Tibetan rugs.
