Gift & Home Décor Leasing at Las Vegas Market Shows Unprecedented Momentum
Article Number: 7913

LAS VEGAS, November 15, 2012 – An unprecedented level of leasing activity is creating a marked increase in home décor and gift resources for the Winter Gift+Home at Las Vegas Market, January 28 - February 1, 2013. New leases, renewals and expansions, both in permanent showroom space and in temporary exhibits, align with International Market Center’s strategic plan to grow Gift+Home at Las Vegas Market into the industry’s premier western marketplace.

Among the new tenants for the Winter Market are several notable brands, including Grasslands Road, a division of Amscan, Inc., Coton Colors, Seasons Jewelry, Roman, Inc., Meissenburg Designs and Blossom Bucket in permanent showrooms, and Design Weave USA, Giftcraft, Indika, Mimex Brands & Labels, Sierra USA, Vandor and Wishnest by Alise Sheehan in temporary space.

“We’re very excited about the heightened level of interest in the Las Vegas Market, and the influx of new showroom tenants and temporary exhibitors is resulting in an unprecedented concentration of gift and home décor resources,” said Dorothy Belshaw, president of Gift and Home Décor, International Market Centers. “We have set the stage for Gift+Home at Las Vegas Market to become the industry’s western marketplace, and leading brands are sharing that vision.”

Within Building C there has been a striking 66 percent growth in density for gift and home décor showrooms, reflected both through introduction of new companies as well as expansion by current tenants. Newcomers include Coton Colors and Seasons Jewelry, both making their western market debut Las Vegas; Blossom Bucket and Hanna’s Handiworks, both transitioning into permanent showrooms after successful appearances in the temporary exhibits. Other new showrooms debuting in January include Grasslands Road, a division of Amscan, Inc., International Gem & Minerals, Meissenburg Designs, Roman, Inc. and Santa’s Own.

In addition to these newcomers, showrooms expanding for the Winter 2013 Las Vegas Market include Designs Combined, Evergreen Enterprises, Gifts of Nature, Inc., Next Step Reps and Ohio Wholesale, Inc. / Kennedy’s Country Collection.

“We have faith that Las Vegas Market will continue to be a growing market for our brands,” said Josh Koncz, sales and marketing manager for Ohio Wholesale / Kennedy’s Country Collection, a company that started in the Gift+Home temporaries, opened a permanent showroom in 2011 and is expanding for the coming market. “There is no other traditional tradeshow in our industry that treats buyers better than Las Vegas Market. They really invest a lot of time and effort into getting, and keeping, the buyers coming. Not only did we get our regular customers but we got an enormous amount of new customers that weren’t expected from the crossover of furniture buyers.”

In addition to these strong levels of permanent leasing activity, there are now two dedicated floors of Gift+Home temporaries in Building C. Floors C4 and C5 have been carefully merchandised into ten distinct neighborhoods and this approach has led to a marked increase in interest. This segmentation creates concentrations of related products in key existing categories and also allows for the introduction of several categories new to Las Vegas Market. For the Winter 2013 Las Vegas Market, HOME, STYLE, and TEXTILES will be located on C4; and GIFT, GOURMET, GLOBAL, MADE, TREND, VINTAGE and CARRY! will be housed on C5.

Notable temporary exhibitors for the winter market include Amity Home, Authentic Models, Bearington Collection, City Paper, Cottonbelle, Elf on the Shelf, Ethel & Myrtle Jewelry, Focused Sales, French Artist Club, Garber Corp, Giftcraft, Grace Management, Grenouille, Heather Ann Creations, Indika, Jiti, Kismet Designs, Madison Park Greetings, Melrose International, Mercana, My Mother’s Buttons, Nashville Wraps, Pandora’s Box, Sierra USA Corporation, Softline Home Fashions, Susan Sells Seashells, The Pangaea Collection, and Theresa Seidel. Additionally, Mimex Brands & Labels (formerly Heritage Lace) will make its western U.S. debut at the January Market.
