(Kansas City, MO) - CFI flooring installation training is breaking records for 2012. Thirty-seven cities will host CFI flooring installation programs before May 30 and more are being scheduled daily. Armstrong, Congoleum, IVC, Johnsonite, Mannington, Mohawk, Personna and TRAXX are co-sponsoring the training making the events affordable for the installation community.

The flooring distributors are actively involved with hosting training at their facilities. Flooring certification training and certification are available at branches nationwide of Carpet Cushions and Supplies, Cronin Company, L. Fishman, Pacific Coast Flooring Supplies, T & A Supply, Tom Duffy Company, Pacific Coast Flooring Supplies and others will be announced shortly.

Affiliates of the World Floor Covering Association represented by the Maryland Northern Virginia Floor Covering Association, Sacramento Valley Floor Covering Association, Wisconsin Floor Covering Association, Washington State Floor Covering Association and the Chicago Floorcovering Association are also hosting events. Many have sponsored successful training programs in the past.
Retailers are actively involved also with Baldwin’s Flooring America (NE); Carpet Exchange; Carpet Express of California, Romanoff Flooring locations in the southeast, ProSource of Chicago, ProSource and Kerns Carpet One of Milwaukee, Carpet One of Houston have events scheduled in the first quarter of the year.

“The CFI Team of 75 trainers is scheduled to present programs in carpet, ceramic, resilient, laminate and wood flooring. Installers are actively involved in the hands-on training programs. Study guides are available prior to the events for preparation. The CFI Team is concerned that everyone receives information to enhance their skills and knowledge. Training is all about improving installation in America and worldwide,” said Jim Walker, CEO who believes that the majority of flooring installers are concerned about providing the finest service for their customers, but may not have had the opportunity to be updated on current techniques and information.

“At our location,” said Herm Claussen, manager of the Kansas City branch of Carpet Cushions and Supplies, “we see the difference in well-trained and conscientious installers. They purchase better supplies and ask for guidance on installation techniques. CFI makes a difference for the installation community and that is the reason we have hosted events for many years.”

“T&A Supply is always supportive of CFI training. We have been actively involved in hosting events for many years and have eight scheduled in the near future, said Greg Szalay, Sales Manager. “CFI not only presents great programs, but they instill pride and professional in the trade and that is equally important. I have been actively involved since serving on the first CFI Board of Directors and tracked the successful progress of the organization.”

“We are looking forward to hosting the manufacturer-sponsored CFI Resilient Workshop March 29-30 at our Baltimore location,” said Jerry Murphy, Regional Manager of Fishman Flooring Solutions. “We have a dedicated training area that has been designed to offer training in the finest of presentations. Our company is dedicated to installation training and actively supports the CFI programs. We also provide the incentive for the CFI Chapters to prepare for training events in their areas by donating to the CFI Chapter Award in memory of a former employee, Pat Fell.”

Cindy Jordling, marketing manager for the Tom Duffy Company said, “We are happy to offer our facilities for CFI training.” In the past, the distributor hosted carpet, wood and laminate events. They are hosting eight events prior to May 30 at various California locations.

“Carpet Cushions and Supplies in Fort Wayne hosted CFI events for many years. We have found that knowledgeable installers purchase the correct products for the type of flooring they are installing. It makes our job easier,” said Tony Buckhardt, branch manager. “This location also hosts CFI Chapter meetings. Following the success of the last two resilient training workshops, we are offering another one in April.”

“The Cronin Company recently hosted a CFI Laminate and Wood Training and Certification and I can’t say enough about the quality of the program and the caliber of trainers that were involved.
