Mohawk’s ‘Inspiration’ For A New Line Article Number: 686
| | | Dalton—Mohawk’s latest laminate offering, Inspiration, may be designed as an entry-level product, but with a number of value-added features built in, “it has the look and feel of a higher end floor.” Inspiration is a 7mm plank with random embossing. But the most notable attribute is, it is constructed with Mohawk’s newest laminate installation system, InstaLoc.
InstaLoc is considered a vertical installation system as opposed to the horizontal tapping method in Mohawk’s DuraLoc and DuraLoc Plus. The new method fits products together by joining the tongue-and-groove at an angle and then lowering the plank in place, whereas the DuraLoc systems has the two planks laying side-by-side and tapping them in place.
The InstaLoc system is used on all four sides of the plank, meaning the product can take advantage of the vertical installation method on its sides and ends, allowing for more versatility as well as making it easier for installers. When it comes to Inspiration’s looks, “The finishes and colors are the same highly successful ones we have offered as part of our Sensations line,” said Ed Williams, senior vice president of marketing.”
The initial offering consists of five colors and three strip designs—four oaks and one maple. “Inspiration with InstaLoc,” he added, “allows our dealers to offer these very popular styles with a vertical locking system with which most consumers are already familiar. It’s ideal for reaching the do-it-yourself market and being competitive with retailers trying to cater to this segment.
“The product is targeted toward the mass market,” Williams concluded, “but includes some of the most saleable colors and designs in the marketplace.” For more information about Inspiration or any Mohawk laminate product, contact your hard surface representative or call 877/275-6642.
