The pre-eminent international trade fair for the floor covering industry will be held at Shanghai New International Expo Center in Pudong, Shanghai, March 26-28, 2002. DOMOTEX Asia/CHINAFLOOR 2002 is an international forum dedicated to floor covering products, machinery, equipment and services, with a special focus on carpets/rugs, hardwood flooring and tiles. Previous editions of CHINAFLOOR succeeded in securing a firm foothold on the Asian continent, attracting 10,000 trade visitors and over 200 leading enterprises from over 30 countries in 2001. It has evolved into Asia’s biggest international event in this industry. DOMOTEX, organized every year by Deutsche Messe AG, is the world’s most important flooring trade fair. DOMOTEX Asia/CHINAFLOOR now combines professionalism, know-how and the excellent reputation of these two renowned trade fairs, which will ensure an optimum business environment for both exhibitors and visitors. The enormous potential of the Chinese market will be reflected at DOMOTEX Asia/CHINAFLOOR, which showcases the newest products, machinery and services within an 11,500sqm exhibition space. While China’s floor covering industry boasts sound growth rates for flexible flooring (an estimated 100 million sqm in 2001), huge potential is also expected in wood flooring and ceramic and stone sectors of the industry as well. It is estimated that China’s enormous investments in housing will create a demand for 60 to 70 million sqm of laminates and hardwood flooring in 2001, as well as a demand for 100 to 150 million sqm of ceramic and stone tile. DOMOTEX Asia/CHINAFLOOR 2002 attracts exhibitor pavilions from Belgium, Germany, Japan and the United States. Over 260 international exhibitors are expected and an estimated 12,000 visitors from Asia will be welcomed during the 3-day event, which will be held in the brand new, column-free Shanghai New International Expo Center in Pudong, Shanghai.
