NORWALK, CONN.—Metroflor Corp. has named Russell Rogg president and CEO, effective immediately. Rogg, formerly director of sales of
Wilsonart Flooring, will be charged with running the sales, marketing and operations of Metroflor, a Norwalk, Conn.-based supplier of luxury vinyl tile (LVT) and plank flooring.
Rogg replaces Michael Raskin, who had been president of Metroflor since 1994. Four years ago, Metroflor introduced a floating LVT, Konecto, to the marketplace. It has been argued that Konecto revolutionized the LVT market with so many companies following suit with a floating product of their own.
Raskin was unavailable for comment at press time.
Harlan Stone, director and CFO of Metroflor, said in a statement that Rogg “is the right man at the right time to lead Metroflor to the next level of success in our industry. Russ has the reputation for listening to the customers’ needs and working tirelessly to meet those needs in a professional and efficient manner. We are confident in his commitment to excellence and ability to create innovative products.”
Stone did not return repeated phone calls seeking comment.
Metroflor is recognized for its floating LVT products that employ a Grip Strip technology. The products are marketed through its Konecto and Starloc brands. The company plans to further develop the LVT category and focus on its two-step distribution efforts.
“The industry is once again at the cusp of yet another rapid technological development as floating LVT products are beginning to adopt locking systems long seen as advantageous in the laminate and wood categories,” Rogg said in the release. He added that Metroflor would soon introduce a broad selection of new products using the glueless locking system.
