Dallas, January 25, 2011 – Quick-Step, the style and technology leader in laminate flooring, is introducing new products into existing lines as well as a brand new collection at Surfaces 2011. Quick-Step’s new designs are all mid-range price point products that feature a superior level of realism, providing Quick-Step consumers with the best combination of style and value in the industry. The Veresque Collection with GenuEdge technology introduces new smooth furniture finish domestic exotic products that achieve a level of realism unmatched in laminate flooring today. The new Modello Collection includes traditional and exotic designs with embossed in register surface texturing that mirrors the pattern of the floor’s woodgrain, elegant micro-beveled edges, and extra-long single planks for heightened authenticity. The Sculptique Collection’s new domestic exotic products feature premium soft-scraped textures and longer plank lengths that present a level of style unique at the mid-range price point.

“The buying process in 2011 finds consumers almost universally scrutinizing their flooring purchases through a new value lens,” said Roger Farabee, senior vice president of marketing, Unilin. “A strong price/value relationship is of paramount importance to consumers. The flooring options most attractive to a large portion of a retailer’s customers are those products that offer a strong value proposition. A good value proposition doesn’t mean ‘cheap’; it means offering consumers a ‘quality product at an attractive price’.

“An unmatched level of realism is found in all of the mid-range price point products that Quick-Step is launching at Surfaces, ensuring Quick-Step’s new products offer the best combination of style and value available in the industry today. Quick-Step’s new products offer consumers the industry’s best designs, a superior level of realism, texture, cutting-edge technology and innovation, consistent quality, excellent service and availability, all at a price attractive in today’s economy. These are the products with which retailers will successfully capture sales in 2011.”

The new Quick-Step products will be featured prominently during Surfaces 2011 in the Quick-Step booth #S3432, on the Surfaces show floor at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

The Veresque Collection’s NEW Furniture Finish Domestic Exotics
Launching at Surfaces 2011, Quick-Step presents the Veresque Collection’s 4 new furniture finish domestic exotics. These new smooth furniture finish products are available in 2 new Maple and 2 new Cherry designs and feature the revolutionary GenuEdge Technology that delivers the industry’s most realistic plank edge. Adding the GenuEdge treatment to the already authentic surface designs of the planks achieves a level of realism that is unmatched in laminate flooring today. This superior level of realism combined with the product’s many other features ensures that Veresque’s new furniture finish domestic exotics offer the best combination of style and value in the industry.

Veresque’s new products provide a lower gloss finish that is reminiscent of traditional furniture finish hardwood, lending a high-end refined look to a room. Furniture finish products are becoming the logical successor to high gloss finishes in the next generation of laminate.

These new domestic exotic designs feature prominent yet harmonious graining, creating an elegant visual. A slightly sculpted texture adds to the realism of the visual. Each of these new furniture finish products offers 15 distinctively different plank designs to achieve a wide range of graining and design variation within a floor, further heightening the authenticity of the hardwood visual. The new products range from light to medium in color.

The collection’s 5” wide by 47” long planks are on a premium HDF 8mm platform. The price/value resulting from this platform positions the collection in a mid-range price point, attractive to a large portion of a retailer’s customers. Made in the USA, Veresque’s furniture finish planks also feature the patented Uniclic glueless installation locking system for quick and easy installation as well as increased protection against water damage and warping.

All Veresque products contribute LEED points, are Environmentally Preferred Products (EPP) in all green rating systems, and are compliant with CARB ATCM Phase 1 standards. Products in the Veresque collection are NALFA Certified, carry an AC3 wear rating, and are backed by a Limited Residential Lifetime Warranty.

The NEW Modello Collection
Launching at Surfaces 2011, Quick-Step’s new Modello Collection offers both exotic and traditional designs. All Modello designs feature authentic surface texturing that mirrors the pattern of the floor’s woodgrain. Extra-long single planks further heighten the authenticity of the hardwood visual. Modello’s high level of realism ensures that this new product offers consumers the best combination of style and value in the industry.

The style and richness of tropical exotic wood is found in the new Modello Collection’s elegant Wengé and Merbau planks. These 2 Modello designs bring the beautiful decor of exotic wood into a consumer’s home without cutting down one endangered tree.

Modello’s 5 traditional rustic Oak designs range from light to dark in color and include 2 unique decors that feature a slight metallic accenting, lending a hint of modern sophistication and excitement to the traditional warmth of these rustic planks. The Modello collection’s 6 1/8” wide by 54” extra long single planks are on a premium HDF 8mm platform. The price/value resulting from this platform positions the collection in a mid-range price point, attractive to a large portion of a retailer’s customers. Made in the USA, Modello’s micro-beveled planks feature the patented Uniclic glueless installation locking system.

All Modello products contribute LEED points, are Environmentally Preferred Products (EPP) in all green rating systems, and are compliant with CARB ATCM Phase 1 standards. Products in the Modello collection are NALFA Certified, carry an AC4 wear rating, and are backed by a Limited Residential Lifetime Warranty.

The Sculptique Collection’s NEW Soft-Scraped Domestic Exotics
Launching at Surfaces, the premium soft-scraped texture and longer plank lengths of the Sculptique Collection’s 2 new products provide style that is unique at the mid-range price point. The subtle, sculpted surface follows the floor’s natural woodgrain design for a realistic look. Longer plank length and natural pressed beveled edges further heighten the authenticity of these warm hardwood visuals. The “French bleed” on these new Hickory decors set them apart from the rest of the Sculptique Collection. These attributes combined with Sculptique’s other features ensure that these new decors offer consumers the best combination of style and value in the industry.

These two new mid-range price point products are on a premium HDF 8mm platform in 6 1/8” wide by 54” extra long single planks. Made in the USA, the planks feature the patented Uniclic glueless installation locking system.

All Sculptique products contribute LEED points, are Environmentally Preferred Products (EPP) in all green rating systems, and are compliant with CARB ATCM Phase 1 standards. Products in the Sculptique collection are NALFA Certified, carry an AC3 wear rating, and are backed by a Limited Residential Lifetime Warranty.
