Solid Wood Goes Glueless
Article Number: 6281

Dallas, January 12, 2011 – Flooring Industries, the intellectual property company of the Unilin Group, has developed a new locking mechanism for solid hardwood flooring planks. Unilin introduced glueless locking technology into the flooring industry in the mid-1990s. Following this introduction, “click systems” quickly became the standard in laminate and engineered hardwood flooring planks. Solid hardwood flooring planks were, however, still mainly glued or nailed down because the traditional locking systems could not prevent solid hardwood planks from experiencing creaking noises in response to changes in temperature and humidity. Flooring Industries’ newly developed locking system has now solved this problem.

Flooring Industries’ new profile has been designed in such a way that it can be manufactured on basic double-end tenoner machines to avoid substantial investments on the part of the solid wood manufacturers. Flooring Industries will demonstrate the new profile to interested companies during the upcoming Domotex show in Hannover. Flooring Industries booth will be located in Hall 7, Stand B30.
