AAT-434, a new premium adhesive from
Advanced Adhesive Technologies (AAT), has been formulated by the manufacturer for installing cork tile on a variety of surfaces, and creates a strong, permanent adhesive bond, noted a spokesman for the company. AAT-434 has been developed to minimize the curling of cork tile. This pure acrylic-based adhesive can be used over dry concrete floors, dry wood floors, and existing non-cushioned vinyl and vinyl-tile floors, and it’s approved for use on all flooring grades, he said.
AAT-434 spreads easily on floors with a 3/32-in. V-notch trowel. When applied, it covers 120 square feet of floor per gallon. The wet adhesive is easy to clean up with water and mild soap; after drying, it can be removed with AAT-197 Adhesive Remover. “What’s more,” he added, “this adhesive offers the superb environmental benefits you’ve come to expect from AAT. Completely non-toxic, AAT-434 contains no carcinogens or solvents, is nonflammable and freeze-thaw stable to 15 degrees F.
Most importantly, this premium product actively resists moisture and alkali, forming a tenacious, permanent adhesive bond. “Like other AAT products,” he continued, “our premium cork tile adhesive is manufactured to rigid quality control specifications and warranted for one year to be free from defects. It’s easy-to-read, color-coded label provides complete MSDS information, child safety warnings and usage recommendations. When stored in an unopened container at 70 degrees F, it keeps well for up to a year. AAT’s premium cork tile adhesive is conveniently packaged in four-gallon and one-gallon pails (four pails per case).” For further information about AAT or its products, call 800/228-4583.
