Quick•Step recently took the wraps off the Veresque Collection featuring GenuEdge technology, a revolutionary innovation that delivers as realistic a hardwood edge visual as can be seen in the laminate industry. Applying this edge treatment to the surface designs of Quick•Step products achieves a high level of realism. Veresque is a perfect solution for homeowners who want the style and beauty of an authentic hardwood floor combined with the performance and durability laminate delivers.
This new technology allows Veresque’s surface design and color to “roll over the edge” of the planks, creating the same edge visual found in real wood planks, the company said. Quick•Step’s proprietary process enables the sheet of décor paper found on the surface of a plank to literally wrap around the edges of the plank. The resulting aesthetic is a wood visual that is the same on the surface as it is on the edge of the plank, just as in a natural wood plank. A consumer will struggle to see the difference between real wood and a Quick•Step plank.
Another advantage of this new flooring collection is GenuEdge’s increased water resistance. The décor paper extends as an unbroken seal from the plank surface around the edges of the plank. Combining this added resistance with the water resistance in Quick•Step’s patented Uniclic glueless installation locking system, this collection achieves a level of protection against water damage and warping unrivaled in the industry, according to the company.
Adding this GenuEdge treatment to the already authentic surface designs of Quick•Step products ensures the company offers one of the best combinations of style and value in the industry. Most competitors are generally able to achieve only a basic lacquered or wide-pressed plank edge, with a few employing the more sophisticated process of foiling bevels.
Veresque is available only at specialty retail floor covering stores in an array of wood looks, including burnished walnut, garnet jotoba, marseille maple, amber hickory, saffron hickory, cognac hickory and toasted hickory. Planks are 5/16-inch thick. Each plank is 5 inches wide and 47 1/4 inches long.
Like all floors from Quick•Step, the Veresque Collection is engineered to resist wear, fading, staining and indentation, and can be installed in high-traffic areas. It’s also easy to maintain with no waxing, sanding, staining or sealing. And a damp mop effortlessly cleans up most messes. In addition, unlike a solid hardwood floor, the Veresque Collection may be installed above or below grade. It carries a lifetime limited warranty.
