DuPont Acquires StoneTech Professional Article Number: 583
| | Walnut Creek, Calif.—DuPont’s Chemical Solu-tions Enterprise (DCSE), has acquired StoneTech Professional, a company that markets premium care and maintenance products for all types of natural stone products including limestone bathroom floors, flagstone driveways and kitchen counter tops. Financial terms were not disclosed. StoneTech is part of the DuPont Safety & Protection platform which is focused on finding solutions to help protect people, property, operations and the environment. “The platform seeks to leverage and expand over 200 years of DuPont experience as one of the safest companies in the world with recognized excellence in science and technology and in-depth knowledge of key markets,” explained Cathy Hamp-ton, who had been with DuPont and is now general manager of StoneTech. By leveraging DuPont’s capabilities, Stone-Tech will gain an incalculable market advantage benefitting all aspects of its business—operations, R&D, sales and marketing, noted Michael Guasch, StoneTech’s founder. “It is a validation of what we’ve done and where we’re going.” “DCSE looks forward to continuing the same level of service and satisfaction StoneTech customers have come to expect,” added Hampton. “It is a monumental time for us,” said Steven Wolf, Stone-Tech’s marketing manager. “People are very impressed with the growing energy behind our brand.” As a result of the acquisition, DCSE relaunched the StoneTech brand along with a new package design as well as a new logo, icon and slogan—Keeping Stone & Tile Beautiful. The packaging is segmented into three categories—protect, clean and transform—for easier product selection. “The goal was to keep the packaging functional, honest and powerful,” explained Wolf. “We produced an industrial looking package to underscore the effectiveness of our products, yet simplified the names and presentation to make it approachable to new users. We added color and graphical elements to clarify the product offerings. It is our most significant, fully integrated brand initiative in our nine-year history.” To convey its promise, StoneTech will be launching a year-long marketing campaign with outdoor, print and Web components. “Our new brand promise is to provide more than just features and benefits,” concluded Wolf. “We are providing experiences that enrich our customers lives. We want individuals to choose any stone they like for their environments and not have to worry. This is the guiding force behind our recent success.” For more information, call 925/295-9700. —Kathlene Vercellino | For More Information | |
