Mohawk Ready with Plentiful Supplies of FSC Certified Hardwood - Offering No Limit on Supply, No Wait, No Lead Time
Article Number: 5822

DALTON (August 13, 2010)—Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified products are in high demand because of their benefits in LEED. Mohawk is the first flooring manufacturer to offer no order limits or waiting time in getting FSC certified products shipped to buyers.

“Mohawk is proud to announce there are no delays with us getting FSC products,” said Dewevai Buchanan, Vice President of Mohawk Hardwood Division. “There are no limited quantities, no wait, and no lead times to get the FSC hardwood you need.”

In fact, Buchanan noted, Mohawk has three styles representing 18 SKUs of FSC-certified products in good supply and ready to ship whenever needed.

“We have been working with our resources to make sure that we have more than enough stock to supply demand,” said Buchanan. “Because of our size, Mohawk has to have significant quantities of product on hand before we release it into our distribution network. We have those quantities.”

Buchanan said Mohawk has the following very popular FSC-certified products available:

• Kingsmill, a 5” wide engineered Elm, featuring band-saw blade marks
• Queenstown Reclaimed, a 5” wide engineered distressed pine or hickory featuring reclaimed U.S. woods
• Zanzibar, a 5” wide product that features wood with a beautiful time-worn look

Unlike other companies who claim to have FSC certified products but with limited quantities, there are no restrictions on Mohawk orders and immediate shipping on all products listed above is now available.

Buchanan cautioned buyers to make sure that products—not facilities—are FSC certified when making specification and purchase choices.
“FSC also certifies facilities, but this does not necessarily mean that the product is FSC certified and eligible for LEED points,” he said. “This is an important distinction to make. With Mohawk FSC certified wood products, you are guaranteed point rich products with no supply issues.”
