Boca Raton, Fla.—In addition to its recent acquisition of
Capitol USA, Q.E.P. has made several organizational changes within the company. Eric Demaree joins the organization as a senior executive in the capacity of executive vice president of sales to Q.E.P./Roberts/Capitol. He has been involved in the flooring industry for more than 30 years. “His background in distribution, retail merchandising and manufacturing will be a tremendous asset in creating future opportunities for growth,” said Lewis Gould, chairman and CEO of Q.E.P. Wayne Harley, vice president of commercial sales, with support from Jeff Johnson, vice president of marketing, have also joined Q.E.P./Roberts from Capitol USA. “They have extensive backgrounds and have established great relationships in the floor covering industry,” said Gould. Jamie Clingan is now responsible for the Q.E.P. sales division. Her knowledge of worldwide enterprises and the Q.E.P. customer base makes her the ideal candidate for this position, noted Gould. “Her past experience as vice president of marketing and commercial sales will be in-valuable to Q.E.P.’s success.” In other news, Roberts has introduced the new 10-55, 6-in. “Longneck” jamb saw as the latest addition to its line of products. “This innovative jamb saw incorporates an easy-to-operate “on-off” switch located in the new Long-neck motor handle. Finally, Roberts has also added the new 10-128 Locking Handle mini stretcher to its line. “This carpet stretcher enables the user to perform ‘hands-off’ seam repairs,” said Gould. “The key is the innovative Ratchet Lock system,” he explained, “which will lock the pin plates in position each 7mm of travel. This means that during seam repairs or when ‘stretching in’ carpets, the stretcher will remain in a locked position, allowing both hands free for repairing the seam or tucking the carpet. This all adds up to more work done in less time. And what’s more, this durable stretcher has been built to withstand up to 300 pounds of tension.” The Ratchet Lock can be easily turned off by rotating the control knob. In the “off” position, the stretcher operates freely. For more information about Roberts and its products, call 800/423-6545. —Louis Iannaco
