ATLANTA— Invista announced the release of Antron Lumena, a commercial grade, solution dyed nylon with recycled and renewable content. The fiber offers up to 25% pre-consumer and post-consumer recycled content with up to 5% of the construction coming from castor beans, a high-yield and renewable resource. The offering has been coined TruBlend.

“Antron Lumena solution dyed nylon with TruBlend fiber technology delivers a balance of recycled and renewable ingredients for today while anticipating innovative blends for tomorrow,” said Diane O’Sullivan, global marketing director of commercial flooring. “The TruBlend fiber technology product line allows us to introduce new blends over time as technology changes and new innovations and resources are available.”

Currently, the blend is tested in heat set form for stain and bleed resistance, color fastness to light, atmospheric contaminants, and resistance to crocking and bleach. It is eligible for Rapidly Renewable and Recycled Content credits through the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED program.
