The Retail Floorcovering Institute (RFI) held a meeting in New York City in September of 1987 and it endorsed, recommended and supported dealer participation at all markets. All market centers were represented at the meeting, which participants hoped would keep the events viable and thriving. At the meeting, from left, were Lou Spano of Eldorado Floor & Wall Co., president of the RFI; Brad Hoover of the Dallas Market Center; Chas Sydney of the Atlanta Merchandise Mart; Dick McAdams of McAdams Carpets, RFI chairman; Dave Palmer of the Western Merchandise Mart, and Bob Barrett of the Chicago Merchandise Mart. Good intentions; not so good results.
